Cat Watching Burn

The first year I went to Burning Man was 2005. There were 35,000 people there (much less crowded than now) and it was before most paid turn-key camps. My husband, Sage, put up a camouflage dome and showed alternative films. It was pretty crazy and a lot of fun, but still sort of wild. We camped next to Skinny Kitty and someone fell off of their scaffolding in the middle of the night. I dressed up as white buffalo woman and was interviewed for French TV. This watercolor series was inspired by looking back at that time from 2017. Everyone’s Burn experience is unique unto them. Whether you were there that year or at a different time, I hope these images can evoke your own happy memories of Black Rock City or if you never have been there, bring you inspiration. Enjoy a beautiful print for your home or as a gift for someone special.
