Originally inspired by Edward Gorey with his macabre Victorian characters on Masterpiece Mystery, I love dressing up in costumes to celebrate all things out-of-the-ordinary and beyond the veil. Bats represent the mysterious and nocturnal side of human nature as they sleep during the day and come out at night. Count Dracula is often portrayed as a bat and represents those who prey on the innocent and the darkside of human nature. At the same time we can’t take ourselves too seriously as we play out the various roles of self-discovery and hold on to the secrets we keep in hiding behind the masks we wear.
She is ready for Halloween or Day of the Dead celebrations as a print or garment for yourself or a gift to that special someone.
